New External Window Films

Johnson Window Films has released a range of external window films. Unlike most other competitors, offering only a 20% Silver, Johnson Window Films also makes the lesser reflective DN 20 and a lighter DN35 for window tinting on the outside. These films are used in situations, where a tint cannot be installed from the inside.

We are particularly proud to have the Daylight Neutral (DN) as an alternative, because the silver can be just too shiny in residential applications.
External films do not have the same lifespan as a window film applied to the inside; the elements attack the tints. Nevertheless, in some situations, these films are the best or only option.

Call us for free advice or consultations, we have contacts covering almost all of New Zealand and work only with the best window tinters around, usually members of Master Tinters NZ

Solar window film performs much better when applied externally to double glazing.

External solar window films reduces the risk of thermal fracture of the glass, which is a crucial consideration on laminated glazing.

Well done to Johnson Window Films for extending their range of window film.

What kind of brands do you guys use for your external window tinting? My company does car window tinting in San Antonio, but we're trying to add residential and commercial tinting to our offerings. Could you use automotive film on exterior windows too?

Thanks in advance!

External window films are not used extensively. If you are considering to branch into flat glass, get good advice from your supplier. We use Johnson Window Films and they have a team of extremely knowledgeable people helping you to achieve what you're looking for. Automotive film is not recommended on flat glass for a number of reasons.
