Rainy Days- what to do

Rainy days are here, what can you do?
If you have been in business for a while, you will have had the opportunity to work with some Glass companies.

Now some of them will not promote you, you might take some business away from them! (What?)

Others will promote the film as an add on to their business and prove that they are customer focused. (That's better!)

It is this relationship, built on trust and mutual benefits, which will see you through the leaner months. These glass guys can be annoying at times, always wanting everything yesterday and the jobs are usually only ONE pane! Just when you're really busy in summer, they expect you to do this kind of work!

We have done this for years.

Why?
Let me tell you a little story first.
Last week, we were asked by one of the glass companies to apply some frosting to a pane after they installed it. It was crucial to be finished by 10am on Monday (today). They installed the glass on Saturday. Because the pane needed structural silicone, we were not able to film it for a while. It then started to rain. (We had to place the film to the outside, so it could not be damaged by the prisoners, yes, it was on a courthouse cell) All of Sunday was totally washed out, all my installers were booked for jobs on Monday morning.

So Monday comes along (today), it is a beautiful morning. I organise my teams and go to the courthouse. There by 8.45. Job is finished by 9.30.

By 10.30 I get a call from the foreman of the glass company, thanking me.

By 1pm, the boss from the same company calls me. He has just received a call from the supervisor of the Court, congratulating him on a superb job, completed on time, without any fuss. Because of this, and it being the third time he impressed the Ministry of Justice, he has now gained the contract for the entire country.

Does this guy like to work with us? You bet! What's in it for us? Well, we have a large network of window tinters, we established over the years, throughout New Zealand. We get to share this success of the glass company.

His business is worth about 2 months work of a small tinting business, every year to us, and he's just one of many. Thanks ,Bruce!

My message? Build relationships and look after them, even if it's a pane sometimes. Your rainy days will be busy.

So, what do the others do on rainy days?

Call 0800 846 892 for those big pane jobs (or little ones)
