DIY Window Tinting (not cars)

If you are considering to tint your own windows, here is an article to help you understand some basics.

We find some people achieve reasonable results, tinting their own windows. Some people struggle, especially with wooden framed, colonial or large ranch sliders.

Factors to consider when doing your own installation are:
  • have you done it before with satisfactory results?
  • are you a handy person?
  • there is no product guarantee with DIY film
  • if a professional installer does it for you, let them use their own film. You will not save any money buying the film your self.
  • Do not buy window film from hardware shops or similar; they do not stock good quality films.
  • Although a quality film costs more, it is well worth it. It will last a lot longer and perform much better than the cheaper films.
  • Once you have chosen the film, there is no guarantee that it will be the correct grade for your home. You cannot return the film. So make sure you listen to the advise of the vendor. (Assuming they know what they are selling)
Send us a message with your requirements and we can send you some more information to help you along the way.
