After one of the wettest winters, we've been told to look forward to a warmer, drier spring than usual! Most of our wholesale customers and competitors have endured a very quiet few months, with many of them bordering on despair.
Some of our competitors were kept busy with an influx of warranty work. They introduced a film just a few years ago, with a lifetime warranty. After as little as two years later, the scratch resistant coating is coming off. Fortunately the manufacturer is honouring the claims, as long as the customer can provide the correct evidence. Our company has stopped dealing with their films back in 01, so we are not affected.
Our winter has been as busy as previous years. We have never dropped our prices and the phones kept on ringing. There are a number of reasons that we are busy and I will not share this in detail; after all, it is considered a "competitive edge", let's just say it has something to do with being a team player.
September will be a busy month for me. At the end of the month I'm treating the family to the "World of Wearable Arts" show in Wellington. Although not a fashion conscientious person, I have always admired the creativity of our fashion designers. They have turned this show into a world leading event and spectacular.
Before then, I have to take part in a rather long, hard and expensive exercise. (No, it's not my tax return) I will let you know in a few days time, when you are getting a chance of scoring something for free.......... more later!
Window tinting can be a rather interesting business to be in, beats a day in the office any time! I guess I'm lucky to work with a bunch of great people!
