I find it fascinating to see others succeed.
At the moment I am following Mike Feldman, a man building a fantastic business over in the USA. He has a long history of being in big business, in fact, you can't get much bigger. Marty has given a great deal of his life to a corporate giant only to listen to his inner belief and do what is right.
He now runs his own window tinting business in a very ethical way, a way he always wanted to follow, but was stifled by the corporate way of "bending the truth".
What I admire, is the guts of standing up to those guys, roll back the sleeves and do it the ethical way..... and get the better of them!
Interesting to read his last couple of comments. One about Mothers day and the importance of family. The other one is Mike's reference to Stephen Covey. If you know a little about business, Stephen Covey has written "The E-myth" series of books. Personally, I follow this way of thinking in my business. I have also been a great fan of Dale Carnegie and have assisted in a countless number of courses as Coach. In the process, I have seen huge changes in people. They have stopped looking at customers and work mates as a means to further their own needs. The focus shifted to treating others as human beings, with all their needs and desires.
Is this something new? Well, I find is is the way things used to be, long before greed and deceit changed the world. Back to basics, this is what we hear again. Basics being truthful, ethical and responsible for one's actions.
What has this to do with window tinting? Nothing in particular. Is it important? I think it is, because we offer a product and service, which is not cheap and needs to last a long time. Get sucked in by a scrupulous dealer and you end up paying the price.
My thoughts for the day.
Thanks Mike!
