Safety films do work!

I had a call today from one of our dealers out of town.
A few weeks ago, they installed a tinted safety film to a retail shop. The owners needed the performance of the safety film with some extra fade protection from a slight tint.
Tinted safety films do take a little longer than clear films to cure properly. The store owner was a little concerned about some small water bubbles still visible, so our dealer went to have a look today. Being winter, and very wet weather recently, it is quite acceptable for it to take up to 3 months to clear 100%.

About an hour after the visit, I had a phone call from a very excited dealer. "One of the big windows was just being smashed by somebody trying to steal some merchandise! And the film held!"

Safety and security films are not stopping glass from breaking, but are designed to hold the glass in place, preventing injury and forced entry.

By all accounts, the culprit was caught by the boys in blue and may enjoy some hospitality care of the New Zealand taxpayer.

There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that your recommendation was justified. Safety films achieve 90% of their strengths within less than an hour of the installation. Drying can be a lengthy process but will clear over time.

At Tint Waikato we use the Johnson Window Films range of of Safety and Security films, available in a range of clear and tinted versions, all complying with the building standards in New Zealand.
