Why so many different prices?

We often get asked to provide a quote over the phone. It would be nice to simply give a price, based on a customer's rough estimate. There are some catches, however.......
1. there is no such thing as "normal" window or ranch slider.
2. a film right for my place could be totally wrong somewhere else.
3. the film comes in different widths rolls, so waste needs to factored into it.
4. window frames are different, wooden ones so much harder to work with.
5. some types of glass carry a risk of breakage, if the wrong film is installed.
6. film costs vary.
7. we pre-cut the film in our workshop to lessen the time spent on customer's premises.
8. you need all the information, to make a decision.
9. high window may need ladders or scaffold.
10. small colonial squares are far more labour intensive than large panes.
11. we want to make sure to find the best solution for you.
12. if we measure it wrong , it's our fault, not yours.

As you can see, just a few things to make life a little more complicated.

We are members of Master Tinters and have a commitment to get every job right and up to the highest standard. Only experienced trades people with the right attitude can become members for your peace of mind.
Having us around for a quote will not result in a pressure sales presentation. Our job is simply to provide you with all the information you need to make a decision. We would prefer to give you a quote over the phone, but have found that this is simply not practical. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule.

So please don't be offended, if we will not be able to give you a price by phone or email, unless we have a lot more information. We have your interests at heart and want to get it right, and unlike other trades, we will not charge you for the trip.

Speaking of prices, always ensure you compare apples with apples, when comparing quotes. Usually there is a reason for a price difference and going for the cheapest could cost you dearly down the road. That is................ if you value quality.
