Tinting for safety

Our business gets calls more often now for protection from people, rather than just the sun.

Anti-graffiti films are cheaper and less disruptive to replace than changing heavy and costly glass in shops and public places. Glass gets etched, not just tagged. The film bears the brunt of the attack and usually leaves no marks on the glass. We have also found that an etched window is not as obvious, if the film is placed over the scratches.

Clear safety and security films offer enhanced protection from forced entry and we now often use tinted versions of these films to further help in office situations with glare and heat control, as well as privacy.

The same applies to homes, where expensive goods are stolen, because they are easy to see through the windows.

Tinted windows with privacy films achieve two results. The first benefit is from not being able to see inside a home, so temptation is lessened to break in. The second benefit is from not being able to tell, if somebody is watching the undesirable, so they move on to an easier target.

Of course, safety films are mostly used to prevent people from getting hurt from broken glass. These films turn an ordinary pane of glass into safety glass, able to hold an adult.

Records show, that every year in New Zealand over 300 children are hospitalised from cutting injuries, mostly caused by broken glass. These are just the tip of the iceberg, as many more are treated by GP's, medical centres and at home. By far most of those injuries could be prevented by having safer glass in the home.

Give us a call to see if we can make your home or business a safer place.
